“To create comfort zones, we regularly step out of our own. Designing unique spaces that invite new experiences is what excites us.
Take a hotel, for example. To us, it’s much more than a place to pass through, a comfortable room, and a beautiful window looking out on the landscape. First and foremost, it’s a place of meeting that must be both surprising and enriching.
We are creators of ambiance and memories. We work on every space to get the best out of it, leaving nothing to chance and thinking through every detail to make the experience smooth. To me, comfort is exactly that: those little things carefully thought out that make the moment absolutely unique.”

Q. What is your definition of comfort?
K.B. It’s about creating real bubbles of intimacy by playing with the generosity of space, its light, and its ergonomics. Just as with fibers, textures, and materials.
Q. Softness and character, is that possible?
K.B. Why not? I love cities, their energy, and diversity. Nothing stops me from also loving the countryside, its purity, and light. That’s where my love for contrasts comes from.
Q. When creating one hotel, and then another, can you reinvent yourself?
K.B. Of course. We immerse ourselves in the spirit of the place and the client’s DNA, and no two stories are the same. Often, we invite local artisans to create elements of an exceptional decor, whether they make the furniture, weave cushions and throws, or create unique and inspired lamps and paintings. That’s how we won, with the Hôtel Le Germain Charlevoix, the award for the most beautiful hotel in the world, simply because we managed to create a place with a unique soul using local materials and craftsmanship.”
