This project led the LemayMichaud teams to develop a concept for the construction of a new 34-storey multi-use tower in downtown Edmonton.
The new tower was to house a Alt+ hotel on the first 15 floors and condominiums on the upper ones. From the pedestrian viewpoint, a podium hosts the common areas of the hotel.
A play with different frames on the facades characterizes the architectural concept but also makes it easier to read the tower by dividing the hotel portion from the one reserved for condominiums. A break in the middle divides and amplifies the different functions of the tower.
